Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Vocco macOS application and the vocco.co website ("Vocco", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Vocco, you agree to them.
1. License
Vocco has a free version and a paid version, Vocco Pro. When you buy Pro you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and activate it on any Mac that you own or control, for your own use, including work. Pro is a lifetime license: one payment, covering all future updates to Vocco for Mac, including major versions. It is not a subscription and we won't turn it into one. The Mac you buy on unlocks automatically; you can add your other Macs by signing in with Google or Apple using the email you paid with, or by entering the activation code shown in the app's settings. Either way it is a license, not a sale of the software itself; you may not resell, sublicense, or distribute the app, your license key or your activation code.
1a. Existing monthly subscriptions
The monthly plan is no longer offered to new buyers. If you subscribed before, your subscription keeps renewing automatically each month until cancelled, with all Pro features and updates while it is active; when it ends, Vocco 1.0.7 and later return to the free version, and your locally stored data remains readable. You can cancel anytime from the receipt email Paddle sent you or by contacting support@vocco.co; access continues to the end of the paid period and no further charges are made.
2. Free version and Pro trial
Vocco 1.0.7 and later can be used without an account or a payment method. The trial starts the first time you open the app on a Mac: you get every Pro feature for 14 days, and each Mac gets one trial. After that the app switches to the free version, which you can keep using at no cost for as long as you like. The free version currently includes 30 minutes of dictation per week and real-time or file transcription of up to 15 minutes per session or file, without speaker separation; these limits may change in future versions. Nothing is locked or deleted when the trial ends, and your locally stored data remains readable. Versions before 1.0.7 require signing in with Google or Apple to start the trial and disable dictation when it ends.
3. Purchases
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, invoicing, and payment data; your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms. Launch prices apply until the date stated on our website. Prices shown may exclude applicable taxes, which Paddle calculates at checkout. Students and teachers can ask for a 50% discount by email; we may ask for reasonable proof. Refunds are described in our refund policy.
4. Acceptable use
You may not reverse-engineer, tamper with license enforcement, or use Vocco in violation of applicable law. You are responsible for what you dictate and where you paste it.
5. Updates and availability
We ship updates at our discretion. Transcription runs entirely on your device and does not depend on our servers. The services we operate are trial and license checks, optional sign-in verification, purchase activation, model download links and update checks; we may modify them with reasonable care not to break licensed apps.
6. Disclaimer and liability
Vocco is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Transcription accuracy depends on the speech engine you choose, your hardware, and audio conditions, and is not guaranteed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from these terms or the app is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
